KIRKBI appoints Chair of KIRKBI Climate

KIRKBI A/S, the holding company of the LEGO Group and other companies owned by the Kirk Kristiansen family, has appointed Susanna Campbell as Chair of the Board of Directors of KIRKBI Climate A/S, effective 15 November 2025.

Susanna Campbell is a Swedish business executive and board professional with more than 25 years of experience across private equity, listed companies, and high-growth ventures. Since her role as CEO of Ratos, one of the Nordics’ largest investment companies, Susanna Campbell’s focus has been on impact investing and the green transition. She co-founded Norrsken VC, which grew into the largest Nordic impact venture fund, and has held board positions with Kinnevik, Indutrade, and Northvolt, among others – all reflecting her strong commitment to sustainability and industrial transformation.

Thomas Kirk Kristiansen, Owner and Chair of the KIRKBI A/S Board of Directors, said:
“We established KIRKBI Climate with a clear ambition to play an active role in tackling global climate change. For our family, it is not just about investing – it is about helping to build impactful businesses that can make a real difference for future generations. Susanna shares that ambition and brings the values and courage needed to build something truly meaningful for the long term.”

Established in January 2025 to consolidate all climate-focused investments under one entity, KIRKBI Climate builds and scales businesses within energy transition, circular plastics, and land sustainability. The company deploys patient, family-backed capital to drive systemic impact and sustainable returns.

Susanna Campbell, incoming Chair of the Board of Directors of KIRKBI Climate, said:
“Having been part of creating and scaling companies that enable the green transition, I’m excited to join KIRKBI Climate at this pivotal stage. Its approach to impact investing and business building reflects the kind of long-term commitment needed to accelerate meaningful climate action.”

Søren Thorup Sørensen, CEO of KIRKBI A/S, said:
“Susanna brings extensive experience from leadership and board positions across companies that combine strong business performance with real impact. Her deep understanding of how to build and scale businesses aligns very well with KIRKBI Climate’s ambition to be a long-term, impact-driven business builder.”

KIRKBI Climate currently manages a portfolio of approximately DKK 10 billion and plans to invest up to an additional DKK 10 billion over the next five years to build high-impact businesses that deliver both sustainable climate solutions and lasting value.

Anupam Bhargava joined KIRKBI Climate as CEO in February 2025, and the appointment of Susanna Campbell as Chair of the Board marks another important milestone in establishing KIRKBI Climate as an independent company with its own governance and leadership structure.
