At KIRKBI, sustainability is not a separate initiative. It is embedded in everything we do. Our approach to sustainability is integrated across our investments and business areas - KIRKBI Climate, KIRKBI Education, and LEGO Holding — and shapes the way we build a better future for children.
Four promises set our course
Our approach to sustainability is shaped by four long-standing promises that we share with all KIRKBI entities. These promises guide our choices and help us stay committed to what’s right for the long term.
Responsible investments
We aim to build long-term value and attractive returns through responsible investments. ESG factors are fundamental when assessing the attractiveness and performance of an investment. We measure progress against accepted standards such as Science Based Targets Initiative, and our investment activities are regularly screened for compliance with international conventions and norms and measured against high responsibility standards and guidelines.

Our carbon emission reduction goals have been approved by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi), a collaboration between the United Nations Global Compact, CDP, WRI and WWF.
